The BEST oreo cake EVER!!!!

HAPPY MONDAY FOLKS!
Here's a little treat for your eyes and your belly.

No.
This is not healthy.
YES.
It is the best cake we have EVER had at this house.
EVER.

Inspiration came from THIS cake here.
The only changes we made was that when we poured all the creamy deliciousness into all of the many holes poked into this cake - we added a whole lotta butterscotch. I think THAT is what made this dish.
Also - the cake tasted SO much better after being refrigerated for a day.
The oreo crumble on the top got this delicious soft texture to it and the flavors just settled really well.
If you haven't made this before - I recommend you stop whatever you are doing right now and get your booty to the store to get the ingredients and MAKE THIS!

Ingredients

  • 1 box german chocolate cake (or any kind of super chocolate-y cake you like!) and all ingredients it requires
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (16 oz) jar chocolate syrup or hot fudge
  • 1 (16 oz) jar of butterscotch
  • 1 (8 oz.) tub cool whip - thawed
  • 15 Oreos crushed/chopped

Instructions

  1. Bake cake according to directions in a 9x13 pan.
  2. Let cake cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. Poke holes in cake with the handle end of a wooden spoon.
  4. While cake is still warm, slowly pour over sweetened condensed milk over the top making sure some gets in all the holes of the cake.
  5. Heat Jar of Hot Fudge until runny and hot. Make sure it is melted to a point that it will pour easily. Pour over top of cake, making sure some gets in all the holes of cake.
  6. Pour butterscotch ALL over the top of the cake and make sure you get it in all the holes.
  7. Let cake cool completely then spread thawed cool whip over the top.
  8. Sprinkle crushed/chopped Oreos over the top of Cool Whip.
  9. Store in fridge until ready to eat. Store any leftovers in fridge.
  10. BEST TASTE: after sitting in the fridge for a night.

This is something that is consumed on a daily basis here in this house - but it was a nice treat. I brought some of it over to my cousin and her fiance who had to put their pup down - it definitely helped to lift their spirits a little.

Try it.
But only eat a bit.
It's addicting!
